About Us

Pine Eden Christian Retreat is a place born out of the wilderness in the Pine Mountain Range of west central Georgia, near Callaway Gardens. Pine Eden is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that offers a place for you to connect with the Holy Spirit while renewing and refreshing your soul.

We offer popular 4-day weekend retreats, summer/fall/winter youth camps, and weeklong retreats. Also, we have available day visits for individuals, schools, families, businesses, or churches.

To help with our year-round fundraising, we offer special events for you to take part in, while helping us to grow our family of supporters. Events such as Christian Scavenger Hunts, Picnic Among the Pines, and more.

Come join us in our neck of the woods! We’d love to host you and your family, your church, and your business.

Mission

Pine Eden Christian Retreat exists to provide a place of communion and growth in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Opportunities to receive and respond to the love of our Savior should be the focal point of all programming at this facility. The retreat center will be observed as holy ground set aside by God for the corporate body of Christ to gather and glorify our heavenly Father through study, fellowship, and worship.

History

Pine Eden Christian Retreat began as a place to meet the needs of Christians participating in Walk to Emmaus Retreats, but has since expanded to include youth camps, and men/women’s retreats. Pine Eden sits on 17-acres of land that was donated by local retired Judge A.C. Levi in 2000. Ground was broken in 2001 to begin the establishment of a campus that includes 4 dorm-style cabins that can host 172 visitors.

The campus also includes a full-size commercial kitchen, a Study Center for conferences, and a Chapel. Onsite is also a 4-acre fishing lake complete with a new dock and a 1-mile walking trail around the lake. An 8,000 square foot covered Open Air Pavilion that overlooks the lake, is available for activities, worship, praise, and preaching. In recent years, two Eagle Scout projects have been completed – a firepit and an amphitheater for sunrise and sunset services.

Pine Eden has hosted church groups, Christian organizations, and missionaries from all over the southeast and as far away as the Republic of Georgia. Below is a sample of the groups who have become part of the Pine Eden family.

  • Atlanta South Walk to Emmaus
  • Auburn University Weslyn
  • Chattahoochee Valley Walk to Emmaus

Holy Cross

Twenty-year-old prayers were answered in 2024, when our Holy Cross was erected on the evening before Easter Sunday. The Holy Cross stands at 17 feet tall on the other side of our lake. It was the Eagle Scout project of one of our local community Scouts.

Guests are encouraged to write their prayers on river rocks, provided by Pine Eden, and place them at the foot of the Holy Cross. Many guests have taken part in this very “spirit filled” opportunity, provided by Pine Eden and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
